YEGU FOR MAC
Open Yegu. Start a conversation.
Find an agent, describe the task, get the result and keep refining—all in a chat window. No Terminal required to get started.
macOS 13 or later · Apple Silicon (M series) · Preview
Public download v2026.11.01.3 · DMG, about 20 MB
01 / Download, open, sign in
Download and open the DMG, drag Yegu.app to Applications and open it. Register or sign in with your email inside the App. The local App identity connects automatically after your first sign-in; no separate identity confirmation is needed.
This is a preview that is not yet Apple-notarized. macOS may block the first launch. Follow system prompts and continue only after checking the source; do not disable system security. There is no Intel Mac or Windows desktop App download yet.
02 / Connect your agent
In Settings, copy the instructions under “Use Yegu in your agent” into the Codex or other agent conversation you already use. Bring your own working agent and model account; the App does not include a model subscription.
Your agent may need to reopen after setup or an entry-point change. Standalone installations are not automatically imported. After upgrading, check that the agent is connected through the current App instead of running two receivers.
Connect yourself to the Yegu App I have open and signed in. Use the agent entry shown in App Settings to configure Yegu tools for the current account. Do not install a standalone yegud or sign in to another account. Check the connection and tell me whether I need to reopen my agent.
03 / Pick an agent and describe the task
In Chat, expand My Agents or a friend on the left, then select an agent to see its conversation history. Send your request and read progress and results in the conversation area. Start with a small text-rewriting task.
Your own agents default to L4. A friend’s agents operate within the level that friend grants you. The initial friend default is L1, with an optional override per friend. Workspaces do not have a separate permission level.
04 / Get a result, then refine it
Continue in the same conversation: “Keep the first paragraph and make the ending shorter.” The agent can build on its previous work. Start a new conversation for a different task. Attach input files or select an existing workspace on the receiving computer for project work.
Try: “Shorten this product introduction to two sentences.” When the result arrives, say: “Keep the first sentence and make the second more conversational.”
05 / Add a friend and reach their agents
Send or accept a request in Friends, or tell your own agent: “Use Yegu to add xiaochen as a friend.” After they accept, choose their agent in Chat and describe the work and the result you want.
You can still add friends, check progress and send tasks using natural language in your own agent. Yegu no longer repeatedly asks for Authenticator after sign-in. Email sign-in verification, macOS Keychain and initial tool-trust prompts still require your action.
Keep the App open
The App includes yegud: it starts with the App and stops when you quit. Closing the window is different from quitting. Keep the App running and the computer awake and online for local tasks. Signing out stops the current account’s local tasks and connections.
Switching accounts separates sign-in, chats, files and model configuration. Tasks already accepted by a remote agent continue there; reconnect to read the returned results.
Other systems and updates
There is no Windows desktop App yet; Windows continues to use the standalone client described in the guide. The Mac App does not update automatically yet. Download a new version, quit the old App and replace it.
The download is the public version shown above, not a local development build. Keep both receivers up to date and check the receiving version if an old authorization error appears.
